It’s hard not to bet on Google succeeding in Listing Directories or Business Profiles, Reviews and Maps. And now that they have added big chunks of Google Shopping into Google’s Business Listing / Profile … called > GMB <  It’s a Business Website …. clearly …. and not that many people see — or have seen — all the amazing explosion of capabilities yet.

Clearly a feature / function battle among Facebook/ Instagram, Google and Amazon. I am living it. Facebook Commerce ? Who woulda Thunk that ? Huge massive effort to unleash that beast.

Having your business information listed directly on Google has a psychological effect on a searcher/potential customer. First, there is the built-in review function, allowing customers a chance to leave Google reviews for your business or products. These reviews and the respective star ratings show on the SERP.

As of last week. Expedia and Bookings just got a huge wake up call. Monstrous. The Advertising Platform is competing for the end customers on the same page. Always interesting in software.

Google is starting to perform tons more end user branding and product marketing. B2B is their space too and I would have thought that Google My Business would be way more successful as well as Google Reviews and Ratings.

My ‘Ouji board’ says Google business profiles will gain more momentum; Google will alter their User Interface and how they engage Businesses one of these days and the world will change with more companies understanding they need to be “on the map”.
